First Federal Co-operative Credit Union (FFCCU), the only credit union in the Federation to have offices in St. Kitts and Nevis, opened its new Personal Banking Centre on February 14, 2022, providing a full suite of financial services complemented by an on-site café. Located at #2 Central Street, Basseterre, the branch is easily accessible and offers members a unique experience in an ultra-modern space.
In keeping with its innovative business strategy and unswerving commitment to deliver unparalleled service to members, FFCCU partnered with Sweet + Savory Bistro to operate the First Café. The café, scheduled to begin full operations on February 21, 2022, will tease the taste buds with irresistible edible delights. FFCCU also partnered with FLOW and The Cable to feature their premium quality services for the enjoyment of patrons of the First Café.

An impressive ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, to formally open the Personal Banking Centre. The featured speaker was Ms. Denise Garfield, General Manager of Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions since 2015. Remarks were also delivered by Mr. Peter Jenkins, President of St. Kitts & Nevis National Co-operative League Limited and a former FFCCU President, and Mr. Howard Mc Eachrane, FFCCU President who is serving his second three-year term as President. Other guests included FFCCU Directors and members of the Supervisory and Compliance and Credit Committees along with Chief Executive Officers of other organisations.
The opening of the Personal Banking Centre for business was celebrated with a Valentine’s Day promotion that captured the hearts of members and prospective members. The Love Don’t Cost a Thing promotion offered a cash reward to members who referred friends to join FFCCU while the friends received free membership. The love campaign, run in all three branches, was so alluring that it was extended to the following day.
Since its rebranding in 2019 when the name and company colours were changed, the main branch reconfigured, service revitalised and products diversified, FFCCU has been on a path of unprecedented success. In spite of the COVID pandemic, FFCCU returned a profit every year and grew its membership from 4,709 to 7,011 at the end of 2021. Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Terrence Crossman, Chief Executive Officer, and with a committed management team and staff, FFCCU will continue to provide convenient services and products that cater to the varied needs of its members.
