First Federal Co-Operative Credit Union announces support available to its members who have been directly impacted by coronavirus (Covid-19). The assistance includes, but is not limited to, loan refinancing, payment deferrals, soft loans for salary supplement and interest only payments.
Members facing financial hardships related to the coronavirus are encouraged to contact First Federal for assistance. Members may contact us by calling 869-466-FIRST (3477) or emailing info@firstfederalcreditunion.com. To access the assistance, members must provide:
- Written confirmation of unemployment (letter or memo from employer)
- Written confirmation of reduced hours
- Confirmation of reduced monthly earnings
First Federal will address the needs of each member directly affected by Covid-19 on a case-by-case basis to ease his/her anxiety and financial stress.
Additionally, First Federal commits to providing additional assistance for all members impacted by the coronavirus in the following ways:
- No early withdrawal penalty on Certificate of Deposits
- No monthly maintenance fees on chequing accounts
- Unlimited savings withdrawals
- No late charge fees for 6 months

First Federal continues to take proactive steps to protect members and staff by minimizing the spread of the virus and limiting the risk of exposure based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These measures include implementing a staff rotation schedule, enhancing cleaning procedures throughout each day, providing hand sanitizing stations near each entrance and maintaining a 6 feet radius for members by allowing 3 members in branch at any given time.
Members are encouraged to use online banking via www.firstfederalcreditunion.com. Members are also reminded that the 24-hour depository service may be used for cash or cheque deposits. Members are advised to use the above services, except for cash withdrawals, which we will continue to provide in branch at Bladen Commercial Development, St. Kitts and Chapel Street, Nevis. The Credit Services Centre will be closed, until further notice and, services will be provided at the Bladen Commercial Development office.
Additionally, First Federal is distributing complimentary immune booster care packages comprising of natural ingredients such as garlic, ginger and turmeric to each member who visits its branches.
